Safe Infant Sleep
Did you know that every year approximately 3500 infants die due to sudden infant death? Did you know that 90% of these deaths may have been prevented if caregivers knew the ABC’s of safe sleep? Do YOU know the ABC’s of Safe Sleep and how to keep your safe during sleep?
Sign up for our 1-hour class “Safe Sleep 101” and learn the ABC’s of Safe Sleep! This one-hour class is part of our Safe Start University Series of classes focused on infant and child health and safety. Classes are offered in Coeur d’Alene, Boise and Caldwell, Idaho as well as in Spokane, Washington. You can’t travel? Join us from the comfort of your home via Zoom!
Along with reviewing the American Academy of Pediatrics Safe Sleep Recommendations, we will discuss what SIDS is, crib safety, unsafe products on the market and how to tell if a product is safe for sleep.
You will learn that with a little diligence, planning and commitment you really don’t have to worry! There are a lot of other things new parents should be worrying about, like college, and diapers…definitely diapers.

Infant & Child Car Seat Safety
Did you know that the second greatest killer of US children, age 0-18 years of age, is traffic-related fatalities? To combat this the North Idaho Child Passenger Safety Team (NICPST) was formed as a program of Safe Start in July of 2018. Since then we have been tireless advocates for child passenger safety.
The NICPST performs approximately 250 car seat checks every year, making sure that all the kids we see leave riding as safe as they possibly can.
DId you know that 75=90% of all car seats are installed incorrectly? It’s true! Modern day car seats, while safer than they have ever been can be extremely complicated. Let our nationally certified passenger safety technicians assist you in installing your car seat to make sure your kids are as safe as they can possibly be.
We currently offer a variety of car seat services and classes all free of charge. Take a look at what we have to offer below and let us know if you have any questions.

A certificate of completion will be awarded.
Would you like a more in-depth training that includes 2 hours of neo-natal resuscitation? This 3-hour class will include Public Safety 101 with an added two hours of training from our medical director, Dr. Kathleen Webb on neonatal resuscitation. This course is 3 hours in length and is appropriate for EMS, Paramedics and other medical professionals. A certificate of completion will be awarded.
