Infant & Child Car Seat Safety
Did you know that the second greatest killer of US children, age 0-18 years of age, is traffic-related fatalities? To combat this the North Idaho Child Passenger Safety Team (NICPST) was formed as a program of Safe Start in July of 2018. Since then we have been tireless advocates for child passenger safety.
The NICPST performs approximately 250 car seat checks every year, making sure that all the kids we see leave riding as safe as they possibly can.
DId you know that 75=90% of all car seats are installed incorrectly? It’s true! Modern day car seats, while safer than they have ever been can be extremely complicated. Let our nationally certified passenger safety technicians assist you in installing your car seat to make sure your kids are as safe as they can possibly be.
We currently offer a variety of car seat services and classes all free of charge. Take a look at what we have to offer below and let us know if you have any questions.

A certificate of completion will be awarded.
Would you like a more in-depth training that includes 2 hours of neo-natal resuscitation? This 3-hour class will include Public Safety 101 with an added two hours of training from our medical director, Dr. Kathleen Webb on neonatal resuscitation. This course is 3 hours in length and is appropriate for EMS, Paramedics and other medical professionals. A certificate of completion will be awarded.
