George Santayana once said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it,” well, Legacy Hall is our way of remembering our past, and the contributions made by all those who have come before us.
The progress that has been made since NISSA was founded all those many years ago is astounding if nothing else. Our nationwide infant deaths due to SIDS and SUID have been cut in half. With the launch of the National Institute of Health’s “Safe to Sleep,” campaign in 2012 we are hoping that we will be able to eliminate even more infant deaths due to sleeping accidents by educating parents, caregivers and medical professionals.
This page is where we keep and catalog our legacy, our past, how we arrived at where we are. We are committed to keep learning from the past and continue to build on the foundation that was laid for us so many years ago.
If you have been involved with NISSA or other SIDS related and you have some items, pictures, documents, stories etc. that you feel belong in Legacy Hall, please send us an email. We would love to hear from you.
